An arson attack reduced Université Soleil d’Haïti (USH), founded by Jean Renel Sénatus, former senator for the West Department in the 50th legislature, to ashes.

Mayor of Montrouis house burned down

The home of Elysée Blaise, the interim executive agent at the Montrouis City Hall, and that of his mother, were burned down by armed individuals belonging to the "Taliban" gang.

Miss Universe : Melissa Queenie Sapini will represent Haiti

Melissa Queenie Sapini, a Haitian-American journalist and television host, has been chosen to represent Haiti at the 74th Miss Universe pageant, which will be held in Thailand from November 2nd to 21st. Melissa is also involved in social activism. She co-founded with her mother The Two Queens Foundation, an organization that funds education in Haiti and supports literacy programs.

Laurent Saint-Cyr in Qatar

On Saturday, November 1st, Laurent Saint-Cyr, President pro tempore and Coordinator of the Transition Council, arrived in Doha, Qatar, to participate in the Second World Summit for Social Development, held from November 4th to 6th. Upon his arrival at Hamad International Airport, Saint-Cyr and the Haitian delegation were greeted by Ibrahim bin Yousif Fakhro, Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and by Jean-Marie François Junior Guillaume, Haiti's Ambassador to the State of Qatar.

Roadwork notice in Port-au-Prince

The Port-au-Prince City Hall informs residents and the general public that, as part of the rehabilitation work on Faustin 1er Road, the section between Avenue Jean Paul II and Bois Patate (Canapé-Vert) will be closed to traffic from Saturday, November 1st to Sunday, November 9th, 2025. This work will be carried out by the Port-au-Prince City Hall, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works. This temporary closure is essential to ensure the proper execution of the work and the safety of road users and workers.

USA : Aid for victims of Melissa:

The United States is providing assistance to Haitians affected by Hurricane Melissa. Thanks to supplies pre-positioned by the State Department, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has already distributed 2,907 plastic tarps and shelter kits to 32 sites for displaced persons and host families affected by the floods in Port-au-Prince, and is currently conducting assessments in the south of the country for further distributions.
