Haiti - Diplomacy : Towards the opening of a Haitian Embassy in Ethiopia

As part of the expansion of Haitian diplomatic and consular posts abroad, particularly on the African continent, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs dispatched Ms. Marie-Hélène Calvin, a senior official, to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to finalize discussions and preparations for the opening of a Haitian Embassy in Ethiopia.

Marie-Hélène Calvin had a fruitful meeting with Berhanu Tsegaye, Ethiopian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, who asked the envoy to convey to her Haitian counterpart the renewal of the long-standing ties of friendship between the two countries.

The Ethiopian government warmly welcomed the Haitian government's decision to open an embassy in Ethiopia and pledged to support the Haitian authorities throughout the entire process.

Furthermore, Marie-Hélène Calvin held other meetings with authorities and prominent figures to expedite the process for the upcoming opening of the Haitian Embassy in Ethiopia.

Let's recall that Addis Ababa is home to several UN and pan-African agencies, making it the third-largest diplomatic capital in the world.
