2026 World Cup, preparatory meeting

Thursday, February 12, 2026, in continuation of the guidelines set by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé to make Haiti's participation in the 23rd edition of the final phase of the Football World Cup (FIFA 2026), a window of opportunity for Haiti, a working meeting was held at the Chancellery between Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kathia Verdieu, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad and Niola Lynn Sarah Dévalis Octavius the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action.

Success of the Jacmel Carnival

The 2026 edition of the Jacmel Carnival took place successfully, marked by a large attendance and an organization worthy of this emblematic event, with the support of the Ministry of Culture. Placed under the theme "Jacmel in our dreams", this edition constituted a true showcase of Haitian creative genius. It notably highlighted the excellence of Jacmelian artisans, through traditional papier-mâché masks, symbols of recognized know-how.
