Haiti - Politic : The Prime Minister calls for action, rigor, and national unity

On Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé officially presented his new government at a solemn ceremony held at the Villa d’accueil.

This event brought together members of the outgoing government, high-ranking state officials, representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps accredited to Haiti, as well as numerous prominent figures from various sectors of national life.

In his address, the Prime Minister commended the commitment and dedication of the outgoing government members, who worked in a particularly challenging crisis, prioritizing the best interests of the Haitian nation.

"Konpatriyòt mwen yo, seremoni jodia pa yon senp chanjman, se rezilta yon angajman politik ki sòti nan Pak Nasyonal pou Estabilite ak Òganizasyon eleksyon. Pak sa se prèv lè Peyi a an danje nou kapab mete tout diferans nou de kote pou nou sove sa ki pi enpòtan, ki se peyi Dayiti. Avèk Pak sa, nou pran angajman pou n fòme yon kabinè ministeryèl ki enpasyal, teknik, epi ki efikas," declared the Prime Minister.

Continuing his intervention, he insisted "The time for fine speeches is over. Today is the time for action."

Convinced of the competence and sense of responsibility of the new members of the Cabinet, the Prime Minister urged them to adopt sound, rigorous, and transparent management of public resources. He emphasized that every gourde spent must be for the direct benefit of the population, with the aim of building a modern, efficient, and credible public administration.

On this occasion, Fils-Aimé reaffirmed that government action will be structured around three major strategic priorities :

Security :

Strengthening the operational capacities of the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H), and the Gang Repression Force (FRG) in order to regain full control of areas under the influence of criminal groups and to sustainably restore the authority of the State.

Economic and Social Recovery :

Implement concrete actions through sustained dialogue with representatives of the private sector and financial partners; support farmers and entrepreneurs; revive national production and create a climate conducive to investment, particularly foreign investment.

Organization of Elections :

Establish the institutional, logistical, and security mechanisms necessary for organizing free, fair, and credible elections, with a view to renewing the political personnel and fully restoring constitutional order.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister made a passionate appeal for civic engagement in building a prosperous Haiti, founded on unity, solidarity, and peace. He also thanked international partners for their continued support in efforts to definitively end the country's long-standing crisis.
