Seguin targeted by terrorists

On the night of Monday, April 13, to Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the town of Seguin, in the commune of Marigot, was targeted by a terrorist attack from the "Viv Ansanm" coalition. The Seguin police station was set on fire, as well as two vehicles belonging to the Haitian National Police. The attack reportedly resulted in several deaths and the burning of houses. No official casualty figures have been released.

Montreal : International Day of the Haitian Diaspora

The 8th International Day of the Haitian Diaspora (IDHD) will be held in Montreal at the La Renaissance Convention Centre from April 17 to 19, 2026.

CODEVI Industrial Park : 3rd Day of Strike

On Monday, April 13, 2026, at the call of labor unions, thousands of workers at the CODEVI industrial park in Ouanaminthe began a three-day strike (April 13-15). Their main demand concerns the minimum wage, which has been set at 600 gourdes per day for over five years, without any periodic adjustments based on the cost of living, as stipulated. The workers are also protesting against deductions made from their wages for the benefit of the Office of Occupational Accident, Illness, and Maternity Insurance (OFATMA), while, according to them, OFATMA services are absent in the health facilities affiliated with Ouanaminthe.

D-2 Playoffs Group B Results

Results of the second day of the D1 Paryaj Lakay playoffs for the 2025-2026 season in Haiti. In Group B, the match between Don Bosco FC and America FC ended in a draw [0-0] on April 11, while Violette AC dominated FC Juventus [3-0] on April 13 at Parc Ste Thérèse, thanks to goals from Clavens Exantus 11’ [1-0], Stay Plaisimond 65’ [2-0], and Jerry Anis 67’ [3-0].

Cap-Haitien : Meeting with Religious Leaders

On April 13, 2026, Raina Forbin, the Minister of Religious Affairs, met with religious leaders from the North Department at the Cap-Haitien City Hall conference room in preparation for the launch of the Grand Conference of Religious Leaders, scheduled for next May. This conference aligns with the Government's national priorities, including restoring security, organizing credible elections, and promoting lasting stability.
