Innovative Microscience Kits

From April 20 to 24, 2026, the Ministry of National Education, in conjunction with UNESCO, is training science teachers in innovative pedagogical approaches that make science more accessible to students. Thanks to simple, safe, and resource-limited microscience kits, it is now possible to conduct experiments in the classroom and foster a better understanding of scientific phenomena through hands-on practice in Haitian schools.

Draft Decree to Modernize the Structure of the Ministry of Culture

The Ministry of Culture announces that technicians from the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry are currently working on a draft decree to modernize the structure of the Ministry of Culture. This draft also includes a review of the legal framework for certain institutions under its supervision, as well as the structures responsible for managing national parks, forts, and historical sites. The Ministry assures the public that all measures are being taken to strengthen and guarantee the safety of all visitors who will soon be welcomed to historical sites.

ANESRS Sanctions Illegal University:

The National Agency for Higher Education and Scientific Research (ANESRS) has become aware of a graduation ceremony organized by the institution called El Shaddai International Christian University. After verification, it appears that the said institution has neither legal authorization to operate in Haiti nor official accreditation for the programs it claims to offer. Consequently, ANESRS has decided to immediately prohibit all administrative, academic, and certification activities carried out by El Shaddai International Christian University.

Zed Airlines Announces Flights to Miami

Zed Airlines has announced the launch of scheduled flights between Cap-Haitien and Miami, with rotations planned for Fridays, May 8 and 15, 2026. No further details were provided regarding the long-term weekly frequency or the aircraft involved. Reservations are now open.

USA : Additional Lifesaving Assistance

The United States is providing additional lifesaving assistance to the people of Haiti in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP). Over the next 18 months, this support will provide critical food and nutrition assistance to 390,000 people, including 227,500 suffering from hunger at emergency levels. The program will also extend school meals to 100,000 children, while strengthening efforts to prevent childhood malnutrition. To prepare for the 2026 hurricane season, 3,300 tons of food will be pre-positioned to allow for rapid response in the event of a crisis.

Environment : Important Meeting in Cap-Haitien

On Tuesday, April 21, the Cap-Haïtien Municipal Commission held an important working session with several stakeholders and institutions. The objective was to plan the "Citizen Saturday" event scheduled for April 25, as well as to prepare for the major coastal reforestation activity to be held on May 1st, 2026.
