Address by the Prime Minister of Haiti to the UN Security Council (video)

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé addressed the UN Security Council, making a strong appeal to the international community for swift, concrete, and strengthened support in the fight against insecurity.

Fils-Aimé was accompanied by Foreign Minister Raina Forbin, Minister of Planning and External Cooperation Sandra Paulemon, Special Advisor Guerly Leriche, and Haiti's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Erick Pierre.

Faced with a critical situation, he reiterated that restoring state authority was the government's top priority, emphasizing that "Without security, there can be neither democracy nor development."

Welcoming the initial results achieved thanks to the national security forces supported by the Gang Repression Force (FRG), the Prime Minister stressed the urgent need for a full deployment of this force, accompanied by resources commensurate with the challenges. "Haiti doesn't need promises, but actions," he declared, calling on international partners to honor their commitments.
