Return of the PM to Haiti, assessment of his official visit (video)

Friday April 24, 2026, back home, the Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, gave a press briefing at the Diplomatic Salon of Toussaint Louverture International Airport, focusing on the positive impacts of her official visit to the United States.

On his arrival, he was welcomed by a delegation composed in particular of several members of the Government, Marie Élisabeth Régine Joseph Haddad, Secretary General of the Presidency, Odilien Charles, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Lieutenant-General Derby Guerrier Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) accompanied by the senior staff, as well as the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), Vladimir Paraison, surrounded by the High command.

The Head of Government highlighted the various bilateral meetings he had (more than twenty) with members of the international community, linked to national priorities : security, institutional stability and sustainable economic recovery.

The Prime Minister particularly insisted on strategic and constructive exchanges with officials from the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). These discussions focused on programs with strong immediate impact, focused on investment and job creation. "Each job created constitutes a direct response to insecurity," he stressed.

On the security and electoral front, the Head of Government indicated that the Secretary General of the OAS, Albert Ramdin, as well as the American Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres alongside other personalities, reaffirmed their support for Haiti in the efforts aimed at restoring the authority of the State. He also advocated for the full deployment of the Gang Supression Force (GSF) and the strengthening of the Haitian electoral system.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister expressed his warm thanks to the members of the international community, as well as to American parliamentarians, for their commitment to the cause of Haiti.
