Americas Immunization Week The Ministry of Public Health launched the Americas Immunization Week (AIM 2026) in Jérémie, in the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr. Sinal Bertrand, health directors from the South Region, Ministry officials, and partners. A football tournament was held at the mini-stadium in Place Dumas to mark the occasion. In the neighborhood match, after a 0-0 draw, the Camagnol team emerged victorious, defeating Dèyè Endistriyèl 7-6 on penalties. In the school final, the National School of Roseaux won 1-0 against Bethel College of Jérémie. Coast Guard : Equipment Donation The Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has strengthened the capacity of the Haitian Coast Guard by providing essential equipment, including a generator, beds, mattresses, and support equipment, to improve living and working conditions and enhance operational capabilities. This donation was supported by Global Affairs Canada. PAP : Progress in Reclaiming the City Center (Video) The Haitian National Police (PNH) has significantly intensified its operations in several strategic areas of the capital. A video released by the PNH shows significant progress in reclaiming downtown Port-au-Prince, which resembles a city ravaged by armed conflict or a natural disaster. Despite this devastation, law enforcement is making progress. Units are now deployed on patrol in several downtown streets. Arrest of a crook As part of the execution of a warrant issued by investigating judge Benjamin Felisme on October 21 On Monday, April 27, 2026, officers of the Haitian National Police (PNH) arrested Osnel Antoine in the Puits-Blain 24 area, near the Port-au-Prince Court of Appeal. He is accused of using forged documents, fraud, and criminal conspiracy. Osnel Antoine will be brought before investigating judge Felisme Benjamin in the coming days so that the legal process can take its course. Court of Appeal : Accused in Arms and Ammunition Trafficking Case Sent to Criminal Court On April 27, 2026, the Port-au-Prince Court of Appeal issued a ruling ordering several individuals to be sent to criminal court in the arms and ammunition trafficking case linked to the Episcopal Church of Haiti. The defendants include priests and former public officials. The accused are being prosecuted for, among other things, illegal arms trafficking, smuggling, and counterfeiting. PNCS Visits Cap-Haitien As part of his tour of the North Department, Lucson Philemond, General Coordinator of the National School Feeding Program (PNCS), accompanied by Wilson Joseph, his Chief of Staff, visited the Anténor Firmin National School in Cap-Haïtien.
