Launch of the ONA's monthly Assizes in Haiti 24/05/2026 09:59:19
On Friday, May 22, 2026, Lovely Francois, Director General of the National Old-Age Insurance Office (ONA), launched the ONA Assizes. For the first time in the institution's recent history, more than 90 inspectors and screening specialists were brought together in one room for an unprecedented exercise in institutional consultation. Lovely Francois explained, "[...] This initiative is not simply an administrative meeting. It is the expression of a vision : that of an institution that chooses to listen to one another to better understand each other, to reconcile in order to move forward more effectively, and to unite in order to better serve. [...] The realities on the ground were expressed frankly. Operational constraints, daily challenges, expectations, proposals, and perspectives were presented openly. For several hours, everyone had the opportunity to speak freely, and each contribution was received with seriousness. Because I wanted the ONA General Assembly to become a space where no employee feels ignored, where no concern is dismissed, and where no truth useful to the institution's progress is set aside [...] The inspectors and auditors, the pillars of contribution collection and the identification of affiliated companies, spoke frankly and responsibly about the realities of their daily work: operational constraints, logistical challenges, support needs, difficulties encountered in the field, but also expectations, proposals, and ambitions for a stronger ONA. Through this initiative, the General Management affirms with conviction that "[...] no serious reform of the ONA can succeed without the involvement of its employees, without an understanding of the realities on the ground, and without valuing the institution's human capital." Now held every last Friday of the month, the General Assembly will offer each employee a space to share their vision, make their voice heard, and actively contribute to building the ONA they wish to pass on to future generations. The ONA Assizes will gradually expand across the entire country, allowing all employees of the institution, regardless of their position or level of responsibility, to participate in this space for exchange, dialogue, and collective development. In a context where many public institutions are being called upon to strengthen their ties with their human resources, the ONA is choosing an administration that listens to itself in order to better transform itself.
