On Monday, June 1st, 2026, Woodenski Pierre, the only Haitian national team soccer player living in Haiti, has an appointment at the US consulate to have his visa application processed. This visa would allow him to join the Grenadiers in the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Youth Want to Be Involved in Decisions About Haiti's Future

For two days in Port-au-Prince, 736 young people from all regions of Haiti gathered for the National Forum on Youth Leadership to share their ideas, express their concerns, and, above all, propose concrete solutions for the country's future. The message from these young people is unequivocal : they want to be fully involved in the decisions that shape Haiti's future. Among the main recommendations made: the creation of a Youth Advisory Council; the development of incubators dedicated to young people; Strengthening public transparency and integrity and establishing a digital platform to promote citizen participation.

Special Ceremony for Mothers at the MARNDR

The Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) held a special ceremony on Friday, May 29, 2026, to honor mothers working within the institution, in anticipation of Mother's Day. Several ministry officials participated in this friendly gathering, which was marked by moments of sharing and appreciation. Academic Cooperation with Spain

As part of efforts to strengthen academic cooperation between Haiti and Spain, Ambassador Dr. Wooldy Edson Louidor held a working meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, with Lluís Serra Majem, Rector of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Discussions focused on prospects for academic cooperation between the two countries, with a particular emphasis on medicine, scientific research, and tropical diseases, with the aim of promoting knowledge exchange, specialized training, and the development of strategic academic partnerships.

MTPTC and BANUH Consider Partnership

Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, Minister of Public Works (MTPTC), met with Daniela Kroslak, Head of Mission of the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (BANUH). The discussions led to the consideration of a partnership between the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC) and the National Anti-Gang Unit (BANUH) aimed at facilitating the deployment of the Gang Repression Force (FRG) in the field. The objective is to strengthen institutional coordination and the technical interventions necessary to support the country's stabilization and reconstruction efforts.
