Haiti's Prime Minister pays tribute to public servants

On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé participated in the ceremony celebrating World Public Service Day, organized at the Montana Hotel by the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH) under the theme "Proud to Serve : Let's Build the Public Administration of Tomorrow Today". The ceremony brought together members of the Government, representatives of the diplomatic corps, public administration officials, and several other dignitaries.

In his address, Madelain Fils-Aimé, the General Coordinator of the OMRH, commended the Prime Minister's commitment to modernizing the public administration and paid tribute to the civil servants who serve the public interest daily.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Haitian civil servants, declaring, "There is no greater honor than serving your country !" He emphasized that the strength of the state rests first and foremost on the women and men who ensure its smooth operation despite the challenges.

He also commended the efforts of the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H), and the Gang Supression Force (GSF) in the fight against insecurity.

On Monday, June 22, in anticipation of the celebration of International Public Service Day, the Ministry of Agriculture held a special ceremony honoring its employees and managers.

Pierre-Richard René Officiel, Director General of the Ministry, commended the professionalism, dedication, and resilience of the institution's employees who, against all odds, continue to carry out their duties with commitment, professionalism, and a strong sense of duty.

For his part, Marcelin Aubourg, the Minister of Agriculture and an agronomist, in his address, paid a heartfelt tribute to the women and men who keep the institution running. He emphasized their essential contribution to the smooth operation and support of the Haitian agricultural sector.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of appointment letters to more than 300 employees. For many recipients, this marked the culmination of a long career. Some of them had worked for fifteen, eighteen, or even twenty years under contract before officially receiving their appointments in the civil service.

The ceremony also included the recognition of two employees who distinguished themselves through their professionalism, dedication, and the quality of their work. They were presented with plaques of honor in recognition of their contribution to the institution's prestige.
