Haiti - Environment : The President Martelly met Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway

Monday at the National Palace, the President Michel Martelly, received the Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway, in visit in the country within the framework of strengthening of the cooperation between Haiti and Norway, particularly in the environmental sector where Norway is already present in various projects in Haiti. Among the points discussed at this meeting include : the support of the Government of Norway in the environment sector, particularly in the reduction of natural hazards ; renewable energy, such as the construction of mini hydro power plants and the Haiti Reconstruction Fund and the reconstruction policies. The mobilization in favor of the Millennium Development Goals is one of the main commitments of Crown Prince Haakon with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) whose he is the Ambassador since 2003.
