Haiti - Tourism : 11 investment projects benefited from tax incentives

Thursday, the Ministry of Tourism reported, that it had supportedas part of Investment Code of November 2002, 11 tourism investment projects over the last twelve months.

These projects, totaling more than $160 million, benefited from incentives, that promote investment in the country, ranging from tax exemption to the exemption from customs duties, with an accompanying of Tourism Ministry throughout the process.

These 11 tourism projects, totaling 844 rooms and more than 100 residences (condominiums), will help the creation of about 6,000 jobs.

The Ministry of Tourism, through its central and departmental structures, reaffirms its commitment to support

the tourism private sector and take this opportunity, to remind to the attention of potential investors, that the implementation of tourist facilities [accommodation establishments, restaurants, accommodation sites and other tourist facilities] must obtain before the start of work, the approval of Ministry of Tourism, which together with the Town Halls, will ensure the application of construction standards.
