Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe met with members of the Brazilian private sector

Monday, as part of his official visit of five days in Brazil, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by some members of his government, of the Haitian private sector and its particular Cabinet, met in the Brazilian capital, officials of the National Confederation of Industries (CNI), a Brazilian entrepreneurs association.

During this meeting, which was attended by Brazilian entrepreneurs, the Head of Government, presented an overview of the process of reconstruction of Haiti and painted a very promising picture about the business opportunities in Haiti.

In his speech for the occasion, Laurent Lamothe has invited members of the Brazilian private sector to come enjoy the benefits offered by Haiti in various areas including investment, construction, energy, transportation, outsourcing.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Haitian businessmen Reuven Bigio and Gregory Mevs respectively member and co-chair of the Presidential Advisory Council for Economic Development and Investment (PACEGI), presented their vision regarding the development of Haiti. These businessmen took the opportunity to report significant investments made ​​in textiles, especially in the free zone concerning Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Thus, the case of Caracol Industrial Park and the CODEVI were taken as an example. Moreover, Mr. Fernando Capellan who was speaking at the meeting, also called for massive Brazilian investment in the outsourcing and the need for Brazilian authorities to approve the preferential law (Brazil Hope Help).

At the end of his visit to the National Confederation of Industries (CNI), the Head of Government reaffirmed its commitment to continue to work in order to put Haiti among the emerging countries by 2030.
