Haiti - Security : USA donated 36 vehicles to the PNH

Tuesday at the Police Academy, on the road of Frères, representatives of the Haitian and American Government in the presence of Brian Shukan, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the United States in Haiti, Godson Orélus, Director National Police of Haiti (PNH), James Perez, Director, Office of Narcotics Affairs and Enforcement (INL), Jean Claude Jeune, Central Director of Administration and General Services of the PNH and other Haitian and US officials attended a delivery ceremony of 36 vehicles to the PNH.

These 36 vehicles donated by the US Government: 30 ATVs, two minibuses and 4 pickups estimated at nearly 1 million US dollars were handed over to the Haitian authorities to assist the PNH to better protect, serve and provide security to the population, especially in the context of upcoming elections.

This donation is part of the agreement signed in 2013 between the US government and Haitian for the professionalization of the PNH, strengthening its capabilities in the fight against drug trafficking and for the improvement of criminal justice system.
