In a note dated September 28, 2015, Ardouin Zéphirin, the new Interior Minister in office since September 11, recalled "to the managers of Hotels, Guest Houses and any individual hosting foreigners in their home that pursuant to Legislative Decree of December 26, 1978 on Immigration and Emigration and specifically sections 60 and 61; they are required to notify the Directorate, Immigration and Emigration of the presence of these foreign, apart from the Haitian of origin holders of travel documents issued abroad.

Accordingly, the Ministry invites owners and managers of establishment to submit every week the list of these foreign to the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) at 171 Avenue John Brown (LaIue) Port-au-Prince or its regional offices in Cap Haitien and Les Cayes.

The Foreign Control Brigade will strive to inspect all buildings housing foreign in order to bring them to regularize their status in Haiti.

The Interior Ministry is relying on the full cooperation of concerned and invites them to take the necessary steps without delay to ensure compliance with Haitian law, as from the publication of this notice."
