Haiti - Education : 7th World Innovation Summit for Education (Qatar)

From November 3 to 5, the Qatar Foundation will organize the 7th World Innovation Summit for Education, WISE 2015 (World Innovative Summit for Education). Approximately 1,500 participants are expected in Doha (capital of Qatar) for this event whose theme is the investment for quality education.

Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL), will be represented by Michèle D. Pierre-Louis, its president and founder, a member for 3 years from the international jury of the WISE Prize for Education awarded annually at the summit. The WISE Prize is a sort of Nobel Prize for education, amounting to $500,000.

According to organizers, a stronger global action in education is necessary to strengthen weak education systems, open up opportunities for new players, develop a talent pool "ready to use" where inequalities and marginalization persist. To educate citizens of the world and support a broader economic progress. WISE 2015 is the first global conference of education, following the ratification in September 2015 of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of United Nations.

Furthermore, Yvens Rumbold, the responsible for communication of the FOKAL with his international team composed of students Deena Newaz (Bangladesh), Ana Plavsic (Serbia) and Sanchirmaa Althankhuyag (Mongolia), will present a project on education in rural and urban areas in Gonaives and Poteau front potential partners and donors.

WISE, an initiative of the Qatar Foundation held annually since 2009. Brings together hundreds of experts and practitioners in the education sector, as well as leaders of national and international organizations from over 110 countries to exchange experiences and innovations that will meet the challenges of 21st century in education.

Note that WISE has been engaged for four years, a partnership with FOKAL.
