Friday, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) and the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) proceeded to the official launch ceremony of the 2015-2016 School Games at Park at St. Therese Petion-ville in a festive atmosphere where hundreds of schoolchildren took part.

In his remarks to circumstances Jimmy Albert, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, who was accompanied by Nesmy Manigat, Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, and General Directors Jean Max St Albin of MJSAC and Reynold Telfort of MENFP, encouraged youth to stay away from drugs and invited school principals and teachers to mentor youth and direct them towards the sport before launching these games under the gaze of the Almighty.

In gala match, the girls of the Good Samaritan College of Croix des Missions mave a demonstration of what we will witness in women's football in the 2015-2016 School Games that will allow thousands of young men and women from across the country to have fun and compete in disciplines such : Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Athletics, Martial Arts, Checkers and Chess Games for over five months.

A parade composed of representatives of participating schools, an honorary body, of cheerleaders, marching band, dancers and acrobats preceded the football match between the Petionville National High School and the College Frères Saint Cyr in male category. World Champion Karate, Darline Jean Marie directed a show of Kyokushinkai of more than a dozen young practitioners of this sport.

In the West department, the 2015-2016 school games will allow about 15,000 boys and girls to compete in seven disciplines: Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Athletics, Karate, Chess and Checkers.
