The Presidency Communication Office informs the population in general that the President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, boarded a plane this Wednesday, December 9, 2015, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to attend the inauguration of the elected President of Argentina, Mr. Mauricio Macri, successor to Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who could not represent themselves.

In the first round on October 25, he came in second with 34.2% of the vote, behind Daniel Scioli, the candidate supported by Cristina Fernández, who finished in the lead with 37.1%.

On 22 November 2015, he won the election in the 2nd round with 51.3% of the vote against Daniel Scioli, who obtained 48.7%.

He will be sworn in as President of Argentina on December 10 and will have as vice president Gabriela Michetti.

The Head of State will return home Friday, December 11, 2015.
