Haiti - Politic : Fanmi Lavalas accuses the United States of interference

Ansyto Felix, the spokesman of the Commission of Mobilization of Fanmi Lavalas, yesterday denounced the interference of the international community and particularly the United States, in the political affairs of Haiti.

The spokesman noted particularly the recent statements of Phillip Crowley, spokesman for the State Department, which estimated that the return from exile of the former president before the second round of presidential elections would be a "unfortunate distraction".

Ansyto Félix does not understand, that we can hope that the former President Aristide, in exile in South Africa since his forced departure in February 2004, continues to live outside their country. Especially, he recalls, that Jean Bertrand Aristide has now a diplomatic passport and that the Haitian Constitution prohibits exile.

Ansyto Félix has announced a demonstration, next Friday in Port-au-Prince, to continue to demand the cancellation of elections and the inclusion of Fanmi Lavalas in the electoral process.
