Haiti - Communication : Winners of the 2021 competition for the «Young Journalist Prize in Haiti»

The Jury of the 7th edition of the "Young Journalist in Haiti" Prize of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) for the countries of the Caribbean and Latin America, launched on September 1st on the theme "the Haitian society face to climatic, environmental and health risks" in partnership with, among others, the Ministry of Culture, the Embassies of Canada, France, Switzerland, the Wallonia-Brussels International Office and the French Institute in Haiti, after deliberation by videoconference unveiled the names of the winners.

"Written press" category :

First Prize: Mrs Germina PIERRE LOUIS for her report: "In the hell of the Sargassum"

Second Prize : Mrs. Katia JEAN FRANÇOIS for her report: "konbit plastik to the attack of the plastic pollution in Haiti".

Category "radio" :

First Prize : Mr. Peterson LUXAMA for his report: "Cité Michel or the silent threat".

Second Prize : Mr. Jean Samuel Mentor for his report: "OPADEL, a peasant organization, builds houses to face earthquakes, hurricanes and storms".

Category "television" :

First Prize: Mr. Ronel Paul for his report : "Living together at all costs with illegal dumping. What consequences ?".

Second Prize : Ms. Shylène Pemplin for her report : "The Alpha village coastline at the crossroads of slum development and alarming pollution".

Recall that the "Young Journalist Prize in Haiti" aims to encourage, support and make known young Haitian reporters of talents, speaking in French and contributes to the professionalization of the profession of journalist in Haiti.
