Haiti - FLASH : Kenyan President Ruto confirms sending 600 police officers (Video)

Prime Minister Garry Conille, as part of his tour of Africa, was welcomed by Kenyan President William Ruto for a 4-day official visit to discuss in particular, of bilateral cooperation in security matters, strengthening economic, social and strategic development between the two nations.

During a joint press conference in Nairobi, Head of Government Conille explained the need for Haiti to benefit from Kenya and other partners with substantial support to help restore a security climate aimed at implementing the major projects of the political transition, in particular, the organization of general elections in Haiti

This was an opportunity for Prime Minister Conille to continue his advocacy inviting contributing countries to demonstrate an expressive and manifest will through concrete and obvious actions to help strengthen the Multinational Security Support Mission.

For his part, Kenyan President William Ruto has given assurances of the accelerated dispatch of 600 (six hundred) new police officers next month (instead of 2 contingents of 300) to increase the operational capacity of his troops in Haiti, as leader of the Multinational Security Support Mission, while reiterating his country's commitment to work alongside Haiti.

It should be recalled that at least ten countries have promised to send a total of about 2,900 soldiers to participate in the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) led by Kenya.
