Ms. María Ángela Holguín, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, will be in Haiti on Thursday accompanied by the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Alfonso Múnera Cavidia, given that Haiti has expressed its interest to host this year the Summit of the Association. The visit comes within the framework of bilateral relations between the two countries and the prospect of consolidating South-South cooperation.

Colombian Chancellor will meet his Haitian counterpart, Laurent Lamothe to discuss among other things: commitments in the areas of security, the redevelopment of popular neighborhoods of Haiti, of Haiti's integration within the CAF Bank (Latin American development bank) and the holding of the Fifth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) provisionally scheduled on July 27, 2012 in Haiti.

Colombian Chancellor, before leaving Bogota, declared that his travel confirms "the commitment of the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos toward Haiti" adding that it will be question during her visit, of several cooperation projects with its counterpart Haitian nd other Ministers of the Government of Haiti.
