Haiti - Diplomacy : The new Ambassador of Haiti, Paul Altidor, takes office in the U.S.

Paul Altidor formally assumed office yesterday as he presented his Credence Letter to President Obama at a White House ceremony.

"Business diplomacy will now serve as an active instrument of Haiti's development and hence a central feature of Haiti's foreign policy," Laurent Lamothe, Haiti's Foreign Minister explained. "Mr. Altidor's business contributions to our country, particularly in identifying investment opportunities for long-term reconstruction, have paved a clear path for Haiti's development and prosperity."

"As Ambassador, I seek to deepen the relationship between Haiti and the United States, two of the oldest republics in the world, as we promote the myriad business opportunities in Haiti," declared the Ambassador Altidor.
