Haiti - Politic : Mission in Ecuador

Within the framework of relations of cooperation with the countries of regions America and Caribbean, Jean Rodolphe Joazile, the Minister of Defense, together with President Michel Martelly has left the country, yesterday Tuesday, July 10, 2012, for Quito, capital of the Ecuador, where he must explore with his Ecuadorian counterpart, Miguel Carvajal, the various avenues of possible exchanges between the two countries, particularly in term of civil defense.

During his stay, the President Martelly will have several working meetings with his Ecuadorian counterpart, Rafael Correa Delgado. Political, diplomatic issues and of cooperation will, will be the focus of discussion.

The Haitian delegation was welcomed at the airport Mariscal Sucre, Quito, where the President Martelly received the military honors.

This Wednesday, a lunch will be offered by Mr. Rafael Correa Delgado in honor of President Joseph Michel Martelly.

In the infrastructure sector particularly, Ecuador, who brings its technical and financial support to Haiti, has already funded a program to the tune of 13 million U.S. dollars in the Artibonite. An amount of $15 illion is now available to launch the second phase of this program in another region to be determined.
