Haiti - Diplomacy : Martelly and Lamothe welcomes the re-election of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez

The President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, sends its warmest congratulations to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for his re-election to the Venezuelan presidential which took place this Sunday, October 7, 2012, with 54.42% of the vote before his rival Henrique Capriles Radonski, who obtained 44.97% of votes.

The Head of State to take this opportunity to express his best wishes to the President-elect of the Bolivarian Republic at the time of reassume his new role. The President Martelly, on behalf of the Government and people of Haiti, reaffirming its commitment to maintain and strengthen the cordial relations hat have always characterized the history of both countries.

The President hoped that the bilateral cooperation between Haiti and Venezuela will continue and be strengthened in the interest of both countries.

Pour sa part le Premier Ministre Laurent Lamothe a déclaré « Le Gouvernement haïtien félicite le Président Chavez pour sa réélection et le peuple du Venezuela pour leur participation démocratique. »

For his part, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe declared "The Haitian Government congratulates the President Chavez for his reelection and the people of Venezuela for their democratic participation."
