Friday in the evening, the Haitian actress, Marie-Andrée Raymond Jeudy, aka "Mantoute" passed away in her private residence in Port-au-Prince. The announcement of her disappearance has generated emotion many reactions and sympathy.

The Prime Minister :

"The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, has learnedwith infinite sorrow, the death of the former actress the theater group Languichatte Debordus, Mrs. Marie-Andrée Raymond Jeudy aka Mantoute. This grande dame of the Haitian art, who held the position of assistant agent executive a.i to the town of Delmas, marked a whole generation of Haitians with her talent, she deserves all the honors and tributes of the Republic. To this end, the Prime Minister added his voice to that of the entire Government to present his sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased as well as the cultural sector in Haiti."

The Presidential Couple :

"The President Michel Martelly and his wife Sophia learned with sadness the news of the disappearance of Marie-Andrée Raymond Jeudy. In this painful circumstance, the presidential couple, on behalf of the Haitian people, salute the departure of Mrs. Jeudy and extends its sincere sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased. Old actress of the Languichatte troupe in which she played the role of 'Mantoute', Mrs. Jeudy was appointed and installed by the Administration Martelly-Lamothe in October 2012, as assistant agent executive a.i to the town hall of Delmas. The Presidency of the Republic and the Haitian people are very grateful for the work done by Marie-Andrée Raymond Jeudy in the artistic world."

The MPAH :

"The Motion Picture Association of Haiti (MPAH) salute the departure, of 'Mantoute'. The latter had played for many years the main role of the TV series, 'Languichatte au XXème siècle' 'Mantoute' was also the main presenter of the National Weather Service bulletins during the past 26 years. On 7 October 2012, she received a trophy of the MPAH in Boston forthe whole of its career as an actress in the troupe Languichatte. The MPAH is pleased to be able to honor this Haitian cinema legend before her death, and presents its sincere condolences to her family, friends and colleagues."
