Haiti - Economy : New Free Zone in Thorland 65 (Carrefour)

Mr. Alain Villard, Concessionaire of the Free Zone des Palmiers and H.M.JE, President of the Society "Yu Jin Apparel CO., LTD. Ltd." welcome the signing of the tenancy agreement, of spaces of the Free Zone des Palmiers for the outsourcing of raw materials in the assembly sector, under the high supervision of Rode Préval, the Haitian State Representative and Director General of Free Zones (DZF).

The Free Zone des Palmiers, which is the result of haitian investments, is part of the Government's strategy, in order to create employment opportunities income-generating for the population.

The total cost of the implementation of this Industrial Park, covering an area of about 4 carreaux, located Thorland 65 (Carrefour), which already houses two industrial modular buildings with metal roof [of 7.000 m2 and 7.400 m2] with individual service areas integrated, is stimated at $8.5 million and included among others : the installation of independent facilities through various structures including : sanitary, administrative offices, machine rooms, offices of the General Administration of Customs and the Directorate of Free Zones. The project also includes a dining room, a clinic and a sports center. This new park would eventually generate more than 3,000 direct jobs.

The DZF is pleased to support the signing of this contract, and reiterates its determination to pursue its mission, by supporting the efforts of investors wishing to install Free Zones in the country, with incentives and and benefits related to tax and customs facilitation.
