Haiti - Social : Rose Anne Auguste visited the Prison of Cap-Haitien

After her visit last week to the civil prison of Pétion-ville, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7835-haiti-social-improvement-of-the-conditions-of-detention-in-the-prison-of-petion-ville.html Rose Anne Auguste, the Minister Delegate in Charge of Human Rights and the Fight against Extreme Poverty, visited on Monday 11 February, the Prison of Cap-Haitien, the largest prison center of the country's second city, within the framework of a needs assessment of prisoners of both sexes in order to improve their living conditions.

During this visit, the Minister spoke to some prisoners, and held discussions with Romage Marlon, the Responsible of a project of rehabilitation of detainees. In addition, she welcomed the smooth functioning of the infirmary during a meeting with the nurse Carlide in the prison infirmary.

At the end of her visit, the Minister stated that she intended to return in the coming weeks to make a distribution of mattresses, clothing, hygiene kits, and crockery as she did with success, to improve the conditions of detention in the civil prison of Pétion-ville.
