The town of Jacmel will have shortly a new Center of support to the creation. This Cultural Complex, which will be built in the tourist port of Jacmel, will include, among other, a kiosk that can be used for the exhibition of handicrafts and a stage for the performance of local artists.

In this perspective, Josette Darguste, the Minister of Culture, visited earlier this week the site where will be built this cultural complex that will serve the population of the city of South-East. Shortly after her visit, the Minister, accompanied by members of his cabinet, of the Administrator and Coordinator of the Unit of Study and Planning (UEP) of the Ministry, met with local authorities around the construction of the building. Have also participated in this meeting, Senator Edwin Zenny (Edo), the Mayor of Jacmel, representatives of the Delegation of Southeast, of Departmental Directorates of Culture, Tourism and of Heritage Office.

The premises must accommodate from 19 to 25 July 2013, the International Arts Festival of Jacmel. As part of this project, the Ministry will bring its contribution to the training of artisans and artists of Jacmel. Following this meeting, a working group composed of representatives of the Ministry of Culture and of Tourism, of the Delegation of South East, of Departmental Directorates, of the City of Jacmel and the Spanish Cooperation has been established in order to ensure the follow up.
