Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism accelerates the process of creation of the tourist police. To this end, Monday, April 15, the Minister exposed the project of tourist police and explained the role and importance of this new body, to over fifty young officers of the National Police of Haiti.

From June, 72 Tourist police officers, pecially trained in this area (history and geography of teh country, oral communication and foreign languages​​), will be deployed in priority areas including : Toussaint Louverture International Airport, Côte-des-Arcadins the National Historic Park, the Champ de Mars. This new specialized police will be managed jointly by the PNH and the Ministry.
