Saturday, April 27, the President Michel Martelly, warmly welcomed his Majesty the King of Jordan, Abdullah II at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, as part of an official visit of a few hours in Haiti.

The Head of State held discussions with King Abdullah II in the presence, of some members of the Ministerial Cabinet and its advisers. Discussions were held around the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, security, education and health.

The purpose of the visit of King Abdullah II in Haiti was mostly to inquire about progress made since the earthquake of January 12, 2010 and identify areas of cooperation with Haiti.

Before his departure, King Abdullah II visited the Jordanian contingent of peacekeepers to the Jordanian base of the peacekeeping mission in haiti. The hailed the Jordanian peacekeeping force's high professionalism in carrying out their duties.
